Jerry and Sheryl York are the Founders & Overseers of Gate of Destiny which was founded in 2001 and IMentorU.com which was launched on the Internet on Resurrection Sunday in April of 2003. They founded 'The Apostles' Feet' Network and Chosen by the King Women's Ministry in 2005, and Selah w/Sheryl & Friends in 2007.
The Church at Jerry & Sheryl's house meets on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. for childrens' church. Please call first if you are joining them for the first time. Jesus Was Relational...Todays Church is continuously calling people to it, but Jesus example was that He went out to the people. Even on Sunday He was not dressed up to sit in a pew. He sat at His Father's feet daily, but He didn't go to Church. He was the Church. Although at times He preached to multitudes. His focus was the few who followed Him. Through those few faithful followers today we have multitudes who follow Jesus. God can take few (like the loaves and fishes) and in His hand it will multiply. Why meet in a house? Think for a minute about how you feel in a nice comfortable home. It is much more personal. Much more casual. A home is where family cries together, laughs together, sometimes argues, but learn to forgive and grow together. In a home there is more time for personal ministry, for fellowship and more importantly for the Spirit of God to move amongst ALL of His children so that they are given opportunity to move in the giftings that He has placed within them.
A home is a wonderful place for gatherings. When you think of a family who lovingly gets together you usually think of the home for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Birthdays, Anniversaries and other Holidays. From BBQ's to bible studies people have been meeting in the home on a more personal basis for longer than we can even imagine. The New Testament model reveals that they met house to house and in some cases they even met daily to share the Word and fellowship.
